Utah Code requires each municipality within the state to adopt a Moderate-Income Housing Element of its General Plan. Some of the purposes of the plan are to identify characteristics that contribute to housing costs, to identify and remove impediments to affordable housing and to evaluate the community’s housing needs. Mapleton City adopted its Housing Element of the General Plan on January 20, 2016. Utah Code also requires communities to conduct a thorough review of the Housing Element every two years and submit a written report to the state. Attached is the City’s report that will be submitted in compliance with state code.
