We will be holding a 3 hour review training for all previously certified CERT volunteers. It will be held at the Public Safety building on Saturday the 24th of June at 9:00am. As an incentive, if you attend this training and agree to continue to volunteer with the CERT team you’ll get a new CERT equipment kit.  Please plan to be there!

All Mapleton citizens, we just finished up our latest C.E.R.T. training course. We had 23 citizens complete the course. We would like to hold another course in the Fall of this year. The course trains citizens on basic disaster response skills such as Fire Safety, Disaster Medical & Triage, Light Search & Rescue, and Terrorism. We are starting a sign-up for the Fall course so please contact Therin Garrett at (cert@mapleton.org) to get signed up for the next one. In your email please indicate what days of the week would work best for your schedule so we can plan accordingly.

Also if there are any citizens who have previously attended any CERT course in the past, no matter how long ago, please email Therin so he can make sure you are in the city’s database for any emergency or non-emergency events that the city may need your help with.

CERT is for any citizens, including youth, who are willing and able to volunteer to help in various types of emergency events/disasters or even things like crowd control at local events.
